Middlesbrough Town Hall was officially opened by Edward, Prince of Wales (who became King Edward VII) and the Princess of Wales in 1889. Many famous names have appeared including Harry Lauder, Gracie Fields, Johann Strauss, Richard Tauber, Oasis, Ben Elton and Robbie Williams.

The Town Hall continues to host a range of big name entertainments, from rock bands to classical concerts.
